Stymie’s Privacy Policy is compiled in accordance with the 13 Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy Protection Framework, in the Privacy Act 1988.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the words The Organisation/Your Organisation/Organisation, includes subscribers to Stymie memberships and staff within a subscribed organisation’s framework, who are responsible for managing Stymie Notifications. Users, includes people who make notifications through the Stymie Notification Platform. PAH refers to Principal Account Holders and SNR refers to Stymie Notification Recipients. Please be advised, Stymie does not collect data about Your Organisation’s usage, notifications sent/received or information contained within Stymie notifications.

FOR ORGANISATIONS:

WHY WE NEED YOUR INFORMATION (organisation email addresses, organisation postal address and number of staff/students)

  • To assist Stymie in verifying, validating and identifying Your Organisation, to enable the receipt of Stymie Notifications.
  • For our administrative purposes; to send Your Organisation invoices, access to our product, our tutorials and other interesting things, such as industry news and new services Stymie may have to offer.

 

WHY YOU WANT TO GIVE IT TO US

  • To enable accurate receipt of Stymie Notifications. Stymie relies on Your Organisation’s information to be current and accurate and Your Organisation’s agreement to our Terms of Use.

 

WHAT WE WILL NOT DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION

  • Stymie will not share/disclose Your Organisation’s information without Your Organisation’s permission at any time, unless the purpose is to protect the Stymie Company and associated trademarks in legal matters.
  • If you need to enquire about the changing of Your Organisation’s information you may do so by contacting Your Organisation’s PAH or email  [email protected]
  • If you have breach of privacy complaints, these will be dealt with according to Privacy Act 1988. Please email [email protected] to lodge your concerns.

 

WHAT WE WILL DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION

  • Stymie will at all times offer options for Your Organisation’s privacy settings.
  • Allow Your Organisation to elect how many email addresses are required and who will receive Stymie Notifications.
  • Allow Your Organisation to exercise its right to cancel an email recipient at any time through the ‘Update My Details’ page, PAH and SNR Admin Panel at about.stymie.com.au.
  • Stymie does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage incurred by The Organisation from inaccuracies on the ‘Update My Details’ page and PAH or SNR Admin Panel at about.stymie.com.au

FOR USERS

Stymie recommends users be over 10 years of age. Stymie is an online, anonymous reporting tool, and as such does not collect, retain or manipulate data contained within Stymie notifications.

Stymie is committed to protecting and maintaining the privacy of everyone who uses our site as well as the information we store in relation to the security of that information.

FOR STUDENT USERS

We want you to feel safe when using Stymie. Your identity is never shared when you make a notification. We do not keep any personal information about you and we do not track your activity. The only purpose of Stymie is to help you report something you are worried about so the right people can help. Your privacy matters to us, and we will always protect it.

SUBPROCESSORS AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

To provide our services effectively, Stymie uses trusted third-party subprocessors that process limited data to support our operations. These subprocessors are bound by strict privacy and security requirements and comply with applicable privacy laws.

  1. Microsoft Azure: We use Microsoft Azure as our hosting provider for the Stymie platform. Azure may process data as required to deliver hosting services. Stymie does not retain user content on Azure beyond what is necessary for service delivery. Azure maintains compliance with industry-leading security certifications and the Privacy Act 1988.
  2. SocketLabs: We use SocketLabs to send email notifications and related communications to authorised recipients. SocketLabs processes the email addresses and message content necessary to deliver these messages and applies strong privacy and security practices to protect this information.
